Autobarn Know How

    Camping Set Up

    1 - Lighting

Aside from somewhere to sleep, a camp fire and a comfy chair, there are a few additions that will add a bit of luxury to make a great camping holiday even better!
Even during the longer days of summer your campsite will end up in darkness, so an LED lighting solution is a smart investment as they are bright, but have very low power consumption so they shouldn’t leave you with a flat battery in your vehicle.
One drawback can be that white light attracts insects which can be annoying. An easy solution for this is to incorporate some orange coloured light as the insects aren’t drawn to this colour which means they won’t be drawn to you as much either.
The KORR orange / white products are brilliant in that they cover both requirements in the one kit. Whether it be torches, head torches, small lanterns, flexible strips or mountable aluminium channel strips Autobarn has you covered with the latest technology SMD (Surface Mount Diode) or COB (Chips On Board) format to provide the best in light output and power efficiency.

    3 - Solar

When camping or when the 4WD is not being driven for perhaps a couple of days but your fridge is still running, the best way to maintain charge in the auxiliary battery is with a solar panel. Think of this like a sun powered battery charger to restore used charge.
Folding framed panels are great for higher output but will take up more space in the vehicle when travelling, so a great compromise is a folding solar blanket. Its output is less, but when folded up is about the size of a pillow.
